The great expansion of Internet use, as in its implantation as in the
services offered through it, allows the user to carry out a lot
of tasks of all kind: electronic trade, teleworking, databases enquiries,
etc. Furthermore, the different governments and public administrations
have been implied in this development and have put at citizens'
disposal new services that have been called e-government. With this
suggestive denomination is made a reference to more or less sophisticated
services offered by the Public Administration designed to facilitate
the business citizen-administration. So, between them, we can find
from the simplest systems that provide access exclusively to the
information (scholarships information, etc.) until the most sophisticated
systems of on-line attention that allow to replace the proceedings
carried out in person for proceedings carried out in a telematic
way: presentation of the rent declaration, payment of taxes, enrollments,
etc. In this sense spanish government has issued the new electronic
national identification card (DNI-e in spanish) which provides the
electronic signature. As a consequence a great effort is made by
the scientific community in the field of security communications
research both on Cryptology and on Information Security.
The Spanish Meeting on Cryptology and Information Security is a
biennial conference that can be considered as the most important
spanish conferente that meets spanish people that works on Cryptology
and Information Security. X RECSI will be the tenth of a series,
after Palma de Mallorca (1991), Madrid (1992), Barcelona (1994),
Valladolid (1996), Torremolinos (1998), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (2000),
Oviedo (2002), Leganés (2004) and Barcelona (2006).
The main goals of X RECSI are two: To show the most important and
recent advances in the design, development, implementation, realisation
and application of efficient and secure cryptographic algorithms,
and to review the first two years of the establishment of the DNI-e.
The X RECSI will be held on September 2-5, 2008 in Salamanca, Spain.
Three lectures will be presented by international researchers of
being recognized prestige as for the Cryptology and Information
Security community. Also people from spanish government and private
sector will be presented another four lectures. Moreover several
contributions will be presented in two parallel sessions (Cryptology
and Information Security) and a roundtable will be organized whose
participants belong to the most important spanish security companies.
